How do I change the Current Ledger or Year to Date Ledger reports in General Ledger?

Resolution

The Current Ledger and Year-to-date Ledger report designs in General Ledger are special reports that are coded in the program. You cannot modify them in Report Designer, but you can change some settings for the ledger reports in General Ledger settings (File, Company Settings, GL Settings, Ledger Settings).

Some of the settings you can change include the following:

  • Which transaction files to use - Current, History
  • Spacing
  • Sort order
  • Report order
  • Page breaks
  • Page orientation (portrait or landscape)
  • Summarization
  • Whether to print the activity as one column or two columns
  • Whether to print references
  • Whether to print batch numbers
  • Whether credits appear as negative or positive numbers
  • Footer settings

Note: Do not change the font. Changing some settings seriously impacts your ledger's appearance. You should print several test pages after you make any change. For more information on a particular setting, click the question mark (?) in the upper-right corner of the Ledger Settings window, and then click the setting or option you want to know more about.
