Summary

What to do when nothing happens after trying to email from Sage 50 or you are only able to email with Outlook closed. If you are trying to email from Sage 50 and it doesn’t open or actually send, use the following solutions.

Resolution

Sage 50 is only compatible with 32-bit MAPI compliant version of Outlook. Please verify that you are using a compatible e-mail program and that Outlook is set to be your Windows default email application.

Solution 1 - Close Microsoft Outlook

  1. Close Outlook.
  2. Try to send an email from Sage 50 with Outlook closed.
  3. If you are still unable to email with Outlook closed, continue to Solution 2.

Note: To avoid closing everytime, make the program run as administrator by default or disable User Account Control (UAC).

Solution 2 – Install updates/reinstall Sage 50 email writer

  1. Browse to Services, Check for Updates from the top menu of Sage 50.
  2. Close the program and any updates to install.
  3. Restart the computer and allow any Windows Updates to apply.
  4. Verify you can email from Sage 50.

If you are still unable to email after verifying Sage 50 and Windows are up to date, remove and reinstall the Sage 50 E-mail Writer.
