Minimum requirements


Internet Access Required:

In order to install and use Sage Estimating (SQL), your server and workstations must have internet access to properly license and entitle your purchased products/modules.

Minimum Hardware Requirements:

Processor Intel Pentium 4 or later processor, 2 GHz+
RAM 2 GB+ of available, open RAM. Open RAM is unallocated memory that is available for Sage Estimating use.
Hard Disk space Sage Estimating and SQL Server: At least 4 GB.
Sage Estimating only: 1.2 GB

Additional Requirements:

Requirement Purpose and Specifications
Network adapter Connects computer to a network. Must be high quality.
Printer For Sage Estimating Reports.
Monitor High-resolution color display. Minimum of 1280 pixels by 1024 pixels.

Supported Protocols:

Protocol Purpose
Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Microsoft servers default to this protocol.
Remote Display Protocol (RDP) Microsoft remote protocol which is used in its remote connection applications

Note: Sage Estimating (SQL) also supports all 64-bit versions of these operating systems.

  • Windows Server 2016
  • Windows Server 2012 R2

Note: Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft Windows 7: As of January 14, 2020, Microsoft no longer delivers any new security patches. Based on Microsoft's end of life dates, Sage no longer includes Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7 as a Recommended Operating System and recommends that Sage Estimating customers using these operating systems move to a current operating system.

Supported Version of SQL Server (with the latest service pack):

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2017
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2014
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2012

Note: SQL Standard & Enterprise: Sage recommends configuring your Sage Estimating system using SQL Server Standard, Enterprise

Note: SQL Express: Sage Estimating includes a copy of SQL Server Express 2014. This is the free version of SQL Server with data, processing, and memory limitations that can affect the performance of the Sage Estimating system. This should only be used in demonstration, trial, or single use/machine environments.

Note: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2: As of July 9, 2019, Microsoft no longer delivers any new security patches. Based on Microsoft's end of life dates, Sage no longer includes SQL Server 2008 R2 (Express or Standard) as a Supported Edition of SQL Server and recommends that Sage Estimating customers using these Editions move to a current SQL Server version.

Note: You will need the latest version of eTakeoff Bridge to be compatible with Sage Estimating 19.12.

Note: that Bridge version 2.19.16 and greater is for uses only with Sage Estimating (SQL) and cannot be used with Sage Estimating (Pervasive).
